About AICCEES
More than 600 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa are living without electricity according to World Bank research. While countries in the African continent are committed to achieving SDG7 which is ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all by 2030, various studies have shown that the major challenges in the renewable energy sector include the high cost of renewable energy solutions, the lack of knowledge about them, the absence of technologies that are suitable to the local context, low research and development efforts, and technical skills gap in the field of clean energy.
In order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa, effective collaboration between academia and industry is necessary to create a sustainable and transformative win-win situation for all stakeholders. However, research conducted by African institutions addressing the unique challenges faced by the continent often ends up in academic libraries with little or no impact on society. To address this issue, the Africa International Conference on Clean Energy and Energy Storage (AICCEES) aims to bring together researchers and industry experts to share knowledge and discuss innovative solutions for the clean energy transition in Africa. The conference will feature industry leaders, experts, researchers, government agencies, regulators, multilateral organizations, industry bodies, and more in the field of clean energy and energy storage.

Conference Thematic Areas
The scope of the Africa International Conference on Clean Energy and Energy Storage (AICCEES) includes contemporary and original research, as well as innovative solutions for the clean energy sector and energy storage systems. The twelve thematic areas below guide paper submissions, panels, demonstrations and partnership proposals; the final programme may combine related topics into sessions. Manuscripts should be between 6 to 12 pages, including references. Once submitted, papers are promptly forwarded to our reviewers, with decisions typically provided within 48 hours.
1. Energy Access, Reliability and Productive Use
Universal access, mini-grids, small hydropower, distributed energy and rural electrification. Energy for healthcare, education, agriculture and MSMEs.
2. Renewable Energy Manufacturing and African Industrialisation
African manufacture of solar modules, inverters, balance-of-system components, wind technologies and clean energy appliances. Supply chains, local content and quality assurance.
3. Energy Storage, Battery Value Chains and Critical Minerals
Battery technologies and long-duration storage; mineral beneficiation; local assembly; testing and standards; recycling and second-life batteries.
4. Next-Generation Solar and Emerging Clean Energy Technologies
Perovskites, organic photovoltaics, tandem cells and advanced materials. Emerging storage, smart energy materials and routes from laboratory to product.
5. Grid Modernisation, Digital Energy and Artificial Intelligence
Smart grids, forecasting, demand response, flexibility, advanced metering and digital twins. AI, IoT, cybersecurity and data-driven energy planning.
6. Clean Cooking, Household Energy and Inclusive Energy Transition
Electric cooking, LPG, biogas, ethanol and improved cooking systems. Appliance finance, carbon finance, health, gender and underserved households.
7. Sustainable Mobility, Electric Transport and Clean Fuels
Electric vehicles, two- and three-wheelers, public transport, battery swapping and charging. Mobility manufacturing, CNG, biofuels and hydrogen mobility.
8. Hydrogen, Gas Transition and Industrial Decarbonisation
Green and turquoise hydrogen, methane pyrolysis, gas utilisation and flare conversion. Industrial heat, fertiliser, steel, cement and hard-to-abate sectors.
9. Circular Economy, Waste-to-Energy and Carbon Value Creation
Waste valorisation, biomass, biochar, biogas, e-waste and industrial symbiosis. Circular manufacturing, carbon utilisation and carbon markets.
10. Climate Resilience, Energy Security and Resilient Infrastructure
Climate-proof energy systems, extreme weather resilience and disaster preparedness. The water-energy-food nexus, resilient cities and energy security.
11. Research Commercialisation, Innovation and Academia–Industry Partnership
Technology transfer, university spin-outs, intellectual property, prototypes and industry-sponsored research. Innovation finance and testing centres.
12. Finance, Policy, Regional Markets and a Just Energy Transition
Blended, local currency and carbon finance; policy reform and standards. Regional electricity markets, AfCFTA opportunities, skills, jobs, gender and youth.
We encourage work that combines technical evidence with implementation conditions. Affordability, local skills, ownership, gender inclusion, environmental performance and the needs of underserved communities should be considered wherever relevant.

Submitting Papers
Step 1: Prepare Paper
Prepare your research paper following the conference template (Download the template attached). Please note that research papers sent in for the conference must be an original research that has neither been published or submitted for publication in any other conference or journal. Additionally it must adhere to our ethical standards.
Download TemplateStep 2: Email Submission
Send your full research paper by email (aiccees@uniport.edu.ng) to the conference chairs for initial review. Please note that any research paper with a plagiarism index of more than 15% will be rejected.
Step 3: Preliminary Review
The decision to accept or reject the paper will be shared by email within 3 to 7 working days. Upon acceptance of your paper for further review, an invoice will be sent to you for payment.
Step 4: Revision Phase
Make necessary revisions based on reviewer comments and suggestions.
Step 5: Scientific.net Upload
The login details to scientific.net will be shared with you by email. Upload your updated research paper to the scientific.net platform for a comprehensive review by two independent reviewers
Step 6: Reviewer Feedback
Comments from the independent reviewers will be communicated through the scientific.net platform for updates.
Step 7: Final Submission
Updated paper is re-uploaded to the scientific.net platform for final decision.
Conference Fees
Participation at AICCEES 2027 is free and open to all, virtually and physically. Participants who wish to receive a certificate of participation, conference materials and meals will pay the applicable fee below. Paper presentation and publication also require payment.
